KATHMANDU: The Cabinet’s 19 decisions have been made public.
At a press conference held at the Ministry of Communications on Friday, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel announced the decisions taken by the Cabinet in its Thursday meeting.
The Revenue Investigation Department and the Department of Money Laundering Investigation, previously under the Prime Minister’s Office, have been transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance, while the National Investigation Department has been placed under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The decision is part of the government’s ongoing effort to streamline administrative responsibilities and strengthen institutional accountability.
In addition, the government has approved the visit of the Finance Minister and the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance to participate in the joint annual meeting of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in the United States.
The Cabinet also decided to assign Janak Raj Sharma as acting Chairman of the vacant Board of Directors of the Nepal Insurance Authority until further notice.
Additionally, the resignations of Joint Secretaries Dr. Ram Govind Aryal and Ramesh Sharma Paudyal were accepted, among other decisions.
