KATHMANDU: The Central Security Committee is meeting today under the chairmanship of Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal.
The meeting will be attended by the Home Secretary, Defense Secretary, and chiefs and representatives from all four security agencies.
The main agenda of the meeting is to review the progress made by the Integrated Election Security Committee and provide necessary policy-level guidance and support.
The committee, formed under the leadership of Joint Secretary Ananda Kafle, who heads the Peace, Security, and Crime Control Division at the Home Ministry, has been tasked with developing a unified national security plan for the upcoming elections.
Home Minister Aryal had formed the Integrated Election Security Committee immediately after assuming office.
The committee includes representatives from all four security bodies, with Under Secretary Rabindra Adhikari serving as the member secretary.
Once finalized, the integrated election security plan will be sent to all districts for implementation.
Each district-level integrated election security committee, led by the Chief District Officer (CDO), will be responsible for executing the plan and ensuring the smooth and secure management of election-related activities.
