KATHMANDU: The Commission of Inquiry formed to probe the Gen Z revolt incidents has dispatched a letter to the then Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak to appear before the commission for a statement.
A source at the commission said that the letter was sent to Lekhak on Tuesday. “A similar letter is yet to be sent to the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli,” the source added.
The government had formed a three-member Commission of Inquiry to investigate the incidents including the use of force against the protesters during the Gen Z revolt.
The Commission includes former Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police, Bigyan Raj Sharma, and advocate Bishweshwar Prasad Bhandari, besides Karki.
The term of this commission was fixed for three months. But the government recently extended the commission’s term by a month.
