KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said continuous effort is necessary to establish social justice and build discrimination-free society.

During the meeting with representatives of Hamro Party Nepal at Singha Durbar today, Prime Minister Karki suggested them to create public awareness nation-wide to prevent the situation in the society where only those having money and power win elections.

She opined that they remaining within government’s mandate would take initiatives for maximum representation of Dalits and oppressed community.

Similarly, the team under leadership of Chairperson of Hamro Party Nepal, Khagendra Sunar, urged the PM for Dalit-friendly provision in the election laws.

He mentioned that there is no appropriate representation of Dalit community in state mechanism, as the existing provision has put Khas-Arya community in the first priority under proportional election category.

Chair Sunar extended gratitude towards PM Karki for stepping forward to take charge of the country in difficult circumstances.
