KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) spokesperson Gyanendra Shahi has accused leaders of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML of committing cooperative fraud that has put the hard-earned savings of hundreds of thousands of Nepalis at risk.

He claimed that despite depositors facing severe hardships and even being pushed toward becoming landless, those responsible for the fraud are still enjoying impunity.

Shahi questioned Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak on when the cooperative fraudsters from Nepali Congress and CPN-UML would be sent to prison.

In a statement on Friday, he wrote: “Home Minister, when will you imprison the cooperative fraudsters from Nepali Congress and CPN-UML? Serious questions are now being raised about your intentions.”

Shahi further stated that this is not only a personal matter concerning Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane but also a harsh reality faced by many prisoners across Nepal.
