KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has set today as the final day for political parties to register for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled on March 5, 2026. Parties must complete registration by today to become eligible to contest the polls.

According to Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, Spokesperson (Joint Secretary) of the Election Commission, political parties can register for election purposes only until today, November 26.

Political parties that were previously registered with the Election Commission must re-register to take part in the election.

A total of 134 parties are registered with the Commission, of which 80 parties had completed their registration by Tuesday.
