KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has confirmed that a new party president will be elected at the upcoming 15th General Convention.
Addressing the Central Working Committee meeting, Deuba clarified that there is no doubt that someone other than him will take over the party leadership.
Deuba stated, “Just as a household never has the same elder forever, a party cannot have the same president indefinitely. According to our legal provisions and political will, I will formally transfer leadership at the 15th General Convention. There is no doubt that someone other than me will become president.”
He also called for an investigation into the incidents that occurred during the Gen Z movement, marking his first public appearance since being injured in the protests.
