KATHMANDU: A meeting of the dissatisfied faction within the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), opposing Chairman Rajendra Lingden, was held today under the coordination of General Secretary Dr. Dhawal Shamsher Rana.
The meeting was attended by 70 members, including key leaders such as Senior Vice Chairman and former minister Bikram Pandey, Vice Chairman Mukunda Shyam Giri, General Secretary Dr. Dhawal Shamsher Rana, General Secretary Kunti Kumari Shahi, and Deputy General Secretaries Prem Balayar, Rishiraj Devkota, and Surendra Bahadur Shah.
Discontent within the party has been escalating after Lingden initiated selective disciplinary actions against leaders from the non-establishment faction.
In response, the dissident group has been actively countering through formal complaints to the Election Commission and issuing joint press statements.
Just a day before the meeting, Dr. Rana had sent an official letter to Chairman Lingden, raising serious objections.
The meeting, held at Nepal House in Hattisar, focused on formulating the faction’s future strategy to confront the establishment faction’s decisions and ensure the enforcement of internal party agreements.
