KAILALI: Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly Member Dr Tara Joshi has resigned from his position as a Provincial Assembly member.

Dr Joshi, who was elected to the Provincial Assembly from Dadeldhura Constituency (B) as an independent candidate, submitted his resignation after the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) nominated him as its candidate for the House of Representatives from Dadeldhura. As he became a candidate for the federal parliament while still serving as a provincial lawmaker, he tendered his resignation via email on Sunday, Sudurpaschim Province Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari said.

In recent times, Dr Joshi had joined the Ujyalo Nepal Party. However, even after the unity with the RSP ended, he continued to stand in favor of unity and remained with the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
