KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has taken a decision to reinstate Sri Bhupatibajra Lama as the Chief Religious Guru of Bauddha and Melamchi Ghyang Guthi.
The ruling was confirmed in a letter following the Commission’s decision on Sunday, legal officer Mohanraj Joshi told RSS.
On last January 23, the Guthi (trust) had opted for the dismissal of Sri Bhupatibajra Lama from his position.
On January 18, the Guthi had sought clarification from Head Lama, coinciding with the implementation of the election code of conduct, and dismissed from the position.
In response to his dismissal, Lama lodged a complaint at the commission on January 27, arguing that his removal breached the election code.
Upon reviewing clarification of the Guthi, which was deemed inadequate, the commission instructed the Guthi to reinstate Lama to his previous position.
