KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has informed that it scrapped a nomination paper filed by Sumitra Basnet as the candidate of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Kathmandu constituency no. 10.

Returning Officer of Kathmandu constituency no. 10, Amrita Kumari Sharma, told the RSS that Basnet’s nomination was terminated as she was found blacklisted from the Credit Information Bureau.

Earlier, the EC had scrapped the candidacy of Resham Chaudhary as the candidate Kailali-1 after conducting an investigation into the complaint lodged against him.

Likewise, the EC has published the list of candidates under the first-past-the-post from the Office of all 77 Chief Returning Officers and 88 Returning Officers.

The candidates have been given time to withdraw their names from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday and the final name list of the candidates will be released from 1:00 to 3:00 on Friday itself.

EC’s Assistant Spokesperson Kul Bahadur GC said that candidates will be given the election symbol from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday.
