CHITWAN: Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) and former Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has confirmed that the House of Representatives election set for March 5 will take place as scheduled.

While inaugurating the new administrative building of Bharatpur Metropolitan City today, Coordinator Dahal emphasized that elections are essential.

He remarked, “Even during the first election of the Constituent Assembly, there were widespread rumors until the day before the election that the election might not occur. Yet, the elections took place.”

In a different context, Coordinator Dahal noted that following the special general convention of the Nepali Congress, public speculation regarding the elections has increased. He stated, “A significant split within a major party is concerning. It is not encouraging news. However, this will not affect the elections.”

Dahal also highlighted that the all-side development initiatives undertaken by Bharatpur Metropolitan City have enabled it to serve as a model for the nation.

During the event, Mayor Renu Dahal announced that the building was constructed at a total cost of Rs 533.2 million. The six-storied structure has been built on seven kattha of land.
