KATHMANDU: The meetings of both houses of Nepal’s Federal Parliament are scheduled to convene today.
The House of Representatives is set to meet at 11:00 AM. On Tuesday, the session was adjourned without entering into the scheduled agenda due to protests from opposition parties.
For today’s meeting, the Federal Parliament Secretariat has outlined a tentative agenda. As per the plan, Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Ramhari Khatiwada, is scheduled to present the committee’s report on the “Federal Civil Service Bill, 2080.”
Likewise, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will table the Economic Survey for the Fiscal Year 2081/82.
According to the possible agenda, a proposal will be put forth to hold a clause-wise discussion and pass the “Bill to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Land, 2082” within today’s session.
In addition, Kusum Devi Thapa, Chairperson of the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee, is expected to present the committee’s annual report for 2082.
The Secretariat has also included oral question-answer sessions related to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Health and Population in the schedule, with responses to be provided by the respective ministers.
Secretary General of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Padma Prasad Pandey, confirmed this information.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly is scheduled to meet at 1:15 PM. In this session too, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel is expected to present the Economic Survey for Fiscal Year 2081/82.
Furthermore, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya is set to propose that the “Bill to Amend Certain Nepal Acts, 2080,” which was received from the House of Representatives with a message, be sent to the Legislative Management Committee for clause-wise discussion.
The National Assembly will also include oral questions addressed to ministers from the ministries of Urban Development; Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation; Health and Population; and Forests and Environment, as per the agenda.
