KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah has made it clear that the aspirations and desires of the new generation must be incorporated into the state system.

In a message of greetings issued on the occasion of Dashain, he stated that the youth are the pillars of Nepal’s future.

In his message released on Sunday, he noted that the patriotism, energy, and innovative thinking inherent in the youth are the only ways to make the nation strong, prosperous, and self-reliant.

“Let us see our own face in the mirror of our country. Much of our governance has been involved in destroying, breaking, and burning. Now, we must focus not on destroying, but on building,” he said.

Former King Gyanendra also emphasized the need for a national mindset that respects truth, senior leaders, discipline, and decorum, and that loves the nation.

He added, “Whatever has happened, has happened. Whatever should not have happened, has happened. Now, the new generation, the coming new era, should move forward with hope, faith, and trust.”
