KATHMANDU: A group of former office-bearers of the Nepali Congress held a meeting at the Chaksibari residence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh.

The leaders, all of whom are seen as aspiring candidates for party president from the establishment faction in the upcoming general convention, gathered to discuss coordination and possible power-sharing arrangements.

Participants in the meeting included Prakash Man Singh, Bimalendra Nidhi, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Dr. Shashank Koirala, Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, and Gopal Man Shrestha.

Former Joint General Secretary and current party spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat is also reported to be on his way to join the gathering.

This is not the first time the seven senior leaders have held talks among themselves regarding leadership and strategy for the party’s next convention.
