KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has left the security provided by the Nepal Army.

Oli returned to Bhaktapur on Thursday.

“There is information that the former Prime Minister has taken refuge in Gundu,” said Madhav Budhathoki, Superintendent of Police at Bhaktapur District Police Office.

During the second day of the Gen Z protests on September 9, Oli was airlifted from his Baluwatar residence by the army.

He resigned from the position of Prime Minister on the same day.

It is reported that Oli has rented a house in Gundu.

UML leader Mahesh Basnet mentioned that Oli is expected to visit the party office in Chyasal on Constitution Day, September 19.

Oli’s residence in Balkot was completely destroyed by fire set by protesters.
