KATHMANDU: Gen Z activist Miraj Dhungana has announced plans to launch a new political party.
On Friday, Dhungana posted a video on social media stating that he intends to start a party through the “Garikhana Deu” (Let us make a living in peace) campaign.
He said the Gen Z movement has brought new opportunities to the country, creating the need for a political party. However, he emphasized that the party will not participate in elections under the current conditions.
“We will not contest elections until we have a directly elected prime minister, overseas Nepalis are guaranteed the right to vote, and a citizen-level body is formed to control corruption,” he said in the video.
Dhungana added that to bring fundamental change, he is working peacefully and has formed a negotiation committee to establish the party.
plans to hold a press meet on October 18 to provide further details.
