KATHMANDU: Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Rajkumar Gupta, who is embroiled in a corruption case, has been summoned to the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.
Minister Gupta, who has been in the news for his involvement in a bribery case, was summoned to Baluwatar by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli immediately after his return from Jhapa.
The audio of Minister Gupta’s bribery case from six months ago has now been made public. Although the case took place in December, the audio was released only a few days ago. The issue of bribery has even entered the federal parliament.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is preparing to take ‘action’ in the bribery case of Minister Gupta. Minister Gupta has also said that he will pave the way for an investigation if the party directs him. ‘I am ready if the party investigates,’ said Minister Gupta.
The audio of the conversation, along with the diary with the number mentioned in the note given for the bribe, has been submitted to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority. The audio was made public only after a complaint was filed with the commission.
