KATHMANDU: In a bid to create a conducive atmosphere for elections, the government is set to hold, for the first time, a tripartite meeting with political parties and the Gen Z group.

The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) at 4:00 PM at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar.

Discussions will take place among representatives of the government, political parties, and the Gen Z group.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel stated that this is the first joint meeting between the government, political parties, and the Gen Z generation to ensure a favorable environment for the elections.

He added that phased discussions and dialogues with political parties and relevant stakeholders are ongoing to ensure the elections are conducted successfully.

Previously, on October 21, discussions were held between the government and political parties.

In the all-party meeting convened by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, all sides had agreed to create a conducive atmosphere and complete the elections within the scheduled time.

Several formal discussions and dialogues also took place during this period.

Stakeholders noted that this formal political dialogue, after a long gap, has helped in building the election environment.

The government has also held multiple rounds of discussions with the Election Commission to prepare for the elections.

The Commission is actively engaged in necessary preparations for conducting the polls.
