KATHMANDU: The Patan High Court’s Hetauda bench has sought a clarification before deciding on a petition filed by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, who has requested the cancellation of a bail order issued against him.

Lamichhane had moved the High Court after posting a bail of Rs 5.4 million as ordered by the Chitwan District Court in connection with a case involving alleged financial irregularities at Sahara Cooperative, based in Chitwan.

He was released on the same day the order was issued — Magh 24, 2081 BS (February 6, 2025). A single bench of Justice Shanta Sedhai issued the order for clarification in response to Lamichhane’s petition.

The case remains under review as the High Court weighs the plea against the earlier district court decision.
