Home ministry issues circular to election code monitoring officers in all 77 districts

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a circular to the assistant chief district officers of all 77 districts, who have been designated as Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officers, directing them to perform their responsibilities effectively.

Ministry spokesperson Anand Kafle said the instruction calls for proactive measures to prevent potential violations of the Election Code of Conduct during the election period and for the regular submission of reports to the ministry detailing actions taken.

The Election Commission has appointed assistant chief district officers in all 77 districts as monitoring officers to ensure effective oversight and implementation of the Election Code of Conduct, 2026, at the district level.

To ensure the upcoming House of Representatives election is conducted in a clean, fair, transparent, and credible manner, the ministry has also established a Central Command Post under the coordination of the secretary.
