KATHMANDU: During the emergency session of the House of Representatives today, MP Amanlal Modi raised concerns about irregularities in the procurement process of the proposed Jagdulla Hydropower Project in Dolpa District, demanding an investigation.
He stated, “It appears that the procurement process of the project has violated legal provisions. An investigation is necessary.” Modi also accused the project of breaching the Public Procurement Act and regulations.
He urged the government to prevent illegal capital flight from Nepal and initiate necessary steps to bring back the money that has already been transferred abroad.
In the same session, MP Bimala Subedi highlighted a road accident in the Koteshwar-Tinkune area, where one person was killed, and three others were injured after being hit by public transport.
She called for proper compensation for the victim’s family and efficient medical treatment for the injured. Subedi also criticized the government’s failure to effectively implement its policy of phasing out vehicles older than 20 years.
MP Prabhu Sah emphasized that the Armed Police Force should not harass citizens in the Terai border regions and urged the government to address the ongoing shortage of chemical fertilizers.
