KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmakers Suryaman Dong and Lekhnath Dahal criticized the federal government for ignoring the reconstruction efforts following the damages caused by the continuous rainfall in the last week of September in 2024.
Speaking during the emergency session of the House of Representatives, the lawmakers representing Kavre and Sindhuli demanded relief for the flood-affected people.
Despite having NPR 7 billion in the Disaster Management Fund, the government has not utilized it to support the victims residing along the Koshi and Rosi riverbanks, Dahal stated.
Dong urged the government to address the people’s suffering and questioned whether the government was unaware of the flood situation or deliberately avoiding providing relief to the victims.
