KATHMANDU: Jitendra Sonal of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) has been appointed the new Chief Minister of Madhes Province.

According to Article 168(2) of Nepal’s Constitution, Province Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari appointed Sonal to the post on Wednesday.

He replaces Satish Kumar Singh, who previously served as the Chief Minister of Madhesh Province.
