KATHMANDU: Journalist Dil Bhushan Pathak has been released on Rs 25,000 bail following a court order by the Kathmandu District Court.
The order came after he testified before Judge Khemraj Bhatta’s bench in a case filed against him under cybercrime laws.
Pathak appeared in court today after the District Government Attorney’s Office in Kathmandu filed a case against him last Monday.
The charges stem from a complaint lodged with the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police, accusing Pathak of cybercrime in connection with a video related to the Hilton Hotel controversy, which also allegedly implicated Jayveer Deuba, son of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The Cyber Bureau conducted an investigation and submitted its report to the government attorney’s office, leading to the legal action.
