KMC focused on quality service: Mayor Shah

KATHMANDU: Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Balendra Shah, has informed that KMC was for minimizing operation cost and increasing quality in its services.

In his address at the 31th anniversary function of KMC here today, Mayor Shah said the remit of house rent tax was widened and the tax citizens pay is utilized for the citizen themselves.

Mayor Shah shared information on the infrastructure-related projects, including road upgrading ad traffic light installation. As part of the nighttime urban beautification campaign, 13,340 electric lights were installed in Kathmandu. In the last fiscal year, KMC carried out the infrastructural projects worth Rs 2.86 billion. The heritage conservation made up Rs 910 million’s investment.

So far, the local level retrieved 208 ropanis of public land worth Rs 23 billion.

Locally available resources and skills are given priority for entrepreneurship promotion. Transfer of indigenous skills will be materialized through ‘one ward: one scheme’.

The regular work areas for KMC are the economic, social and administrative ones. Urban sanitation and e-governance has been forwarded with equal importance, according to Mayor Shah.
