KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the government led by Sushila Karki is not a representative government of Nepal but one representing foreign interests.

Speaking at a program organized by the CPN-UML Bhaktapur District Committee, Oli said that the Karki-led government was “a government born out of fire.”
“I have been saying that this is a government formed from fire. For now, I will only say this much — we will explain more later,” Oli stated.

“This is not a representative government of the Nepali people. I don’t know whose representative it is.” He accused the current government of being formed through chaos and manipulation.

During his speech, Oli also expressed anger over the suspension of his passport.

“The other day, they staged a street spectacle — suspending my passport,” Oli said.

“Maybe they thought KP Oli would flee in fear of Sushila Karki. Now they are holding meetings until 3 a.m. at night to figure out how to arrest Oli and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak. If this isn’t a spectacle, then what is?”
Oli further mocked the government’s restrictions on his movement.

“They say, ‘Don’t leave the valley by crossing this hill.’ They are saying, ‘You cannot leave Kathmandu Valley.’ If this isn’t a road spectacle, what is it?” Oli remarked.

He claimed that the current government was not formed according to the constitution but through coercion.

“There is a government in the country, but it is not formed as per the constitution — it is formed by force,” Oli said.

“The current Prime Minister agreed to take the oath only on the condition that Parliament would be dissolved immediately after. Otherwise, Gen Z would set fire.

Sushila Karki became Prime Minister under the precondition of dissolving Parliament — a condition that destroys the sovereignty of the people’s representatives and undermines the foundation of democracy,” Oli said.
