Lingden and Thapa at TIA to welcome former king shah

KATHMANDU: RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa arrived at Tribhuvan Airport to welcome former King Gyanendra Shah.

Royalist parties, organizations and supporters are preparing to hold a rally in Kathmandu by bringing the former king from Pokhara. Currently, supporters who have gathered in the Gaushala and Tinkune areas are preparing to take out a rally from the airport to Nirmal Niwas.

Former King Gyanendra, who has been staying in Pokhara for some time and touring various districts of Gandaki Province, is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu this afternoon.

Security personnel have been placed on ‘high alert’ in Kathmandu in view of the royalist protests. Since this morning, security personnel have been deployed in sensitive areas and main squares in Kathmandu, including the Narayanhiti Palace Museum, Tribhuvan International Airport. There is a heavy presence of security personnel here.
