Lumbini Provincial Assembly Member Kanhaiya Baniya resigns from post

LUMBINI: Lumbini Provincial Assembly member Kanhaiya Baniya has resigned from his position. Baniya, who was elected as a Provincial Assembly member from Rupandehi Constituency No. 4 (1) in the 2079 BS election representing the then Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP), Nepal, has stepped down with effect from today.

He informed that he submitted his resignation letter to Lumbini Province Speaker Tularam Gharti. Following his resignation, Baniya announced that he will contest the upcoming election for the House of Representatives from Rupandehi–4, scheduled to be held on 5 March.

“I have sincerely tried to work in the best interests of Lumbini Province and the people of the entire Marchwar region while holding office,” he said.
