KATHMANDU: Madhav Kumar Nepal, chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), has advised the government to move forward by building trust with political parties and leaders.

Speaking to journalists during a Deusi-Bhailo program on Tuesday in Kathmandu, Chairman Nepal said his party would also support the government in ensuring that the upcoming elections are conducted fairly and with dignity, emphasizing the importance of consulting political parties and leaders.

He highlighted the possibility of amending the Constitution to refine and improve federalism, calling for broad political discussions on constitutional reforms.

Chairman Nepal urged all political leaders not to be viewed as the same.

He criticized previous governments for ignoring the demands of good governance, anti-corruption, and the aspirations of the Gen Z generation, which, he said, led young people to take to the streets, resulting in tragic incidents.

He also stressed the need to investigate the infiltration that occurred during the Gen Z protests and take strict action against those responsible.

Furthermore, he condemned the use of firearms during the youth movement and called for appropriate investigation into such acts.

Chairman Nepal emphasized that no one should undermine the Constitution or the democratic system, underlining the importance of upholding constitutional and democratic norms.
