JANAKPUR: Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav resigned on Wednesday after the Supreme Court ordered him to seek a vote of confidence within 24 hours, but he lacked majority support.
Seven parties, including the Nepali Congress, boycotted the assembly. Yadav said, “I have no majority; I am resigning and will submit my resignation today.”
He defended his tenure, citing public satisfaction, criticized opposition parties for obstruction, and urged voters to judge their actions in future elections.
