KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has called a meeting of its office-bearers today at the party’s central office in Parisdanda.

The meeting will discuss the political situation created after the Gen Z uprising and the growing rift inside the party.

Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma has openly called for the resignation of Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda,” arguing that the party leadership must take responsibility for recent setbacks.

There are growing demands from within the party for a total overhaul of the organizational mechanism and leadership structure.

The Gen Z revolt on September 8–9 led to the fall of the KP Oli-led coalition government. An interim government has since been formed under former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, which has announced parliamentary elections for March 5, 2026.
