More than 2,000 election staffs to be deployed in Kanchhanpur for HoR election

KANCHANPUR: A total of 2,166 staffs will be deployed across three constituencies in Kanchanpur district for the upcoming March 5 election to the House of Representatives.

According to Bhan Bahadur Mahara, Information Officer at the District Election Office, there are 360 permanent and two temporary polling centres in the district.

Mahara informed that six staffs will be deployed in each permanent polling centre to conduct the election while three staffs will be assigned in temporary centres.

Permanent civil service employees, permanent teachers and employees of public institutions will be appointed by respective constituency election officers.

Similarly, volunteers at each poling centre will be assigned by the respective constituency officers, he added.

The constituency no 1 has 122 polling centres with 101,724 eligible voters while constituency no 2 has 123 polling centres serving 109,574 voters.

Likewise, the constituency no 3 has 115 polling centres with 103,087 voters. Among the total voters across the three constituencies, there are 154,068 male voters and 160,316 female voters, added Mahara.

Compared to previous election, 14 additional polling centres have been added in this election to streamline voter turnout, he shared.
