KATHMANDU: The Cabinet has decided to hold elections on January 25, 2026, to fill vacant seats in the National Assembly, according to a meeting held on Wednesday.

Elections for vacant National Assembly seats are held every two years.

Additionally, the government approved amendments to Schedule-2 of the Federal Parliament Members’ Remuneration and Facilities Act, revising the pay and benefits of parliamentary officials and members.
