National Assembly meeting to discuss Dalit rights and key bills

KATHMANDU: The National Assembly is holding a meeting today at the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwor, scheduled to begin at 12:15 PM.

During the session, Kamala Panta, Chair of the Development, Economic Affairs, and Good Governance Committee, will propose a discussion on the “Report on the Need for Legal Provisions on the Rights and Development of the Dalit Community, 2081.”

Additionally, National Assembly Secretary Dr. Surendra Aryal will present messages from the House of Representatives concerning the “Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts, 2080” and the “Exchange Bill, 2080.”

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is also set to put forward a proposal to deliberate on the “Constitutional Council (Works, Duties, Powers and Procedures) (First Amendment) Bill, 2079,” which was submitted by the House of Representatives along with its message.
