KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) Central Committee meeting is currently underway at the party office in Sanepa.

The meeting, which was suspended for three days due to the death of Congress leader and former minister Mohammad Aftab Alam, was held on Tuesday.

The meeting is attended by Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka, Vice President Dhanraj Gurung, General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, and Joint General Secretaries, central members.

The party called the Central Working Committee meeting to analyze the political situation that emerged in the country after the ‘Gen Z Movement’ and to determine the party’s role and future strategic direction.

The meeting, which began on October 14, has not yet concluded.

Discussions and debates are ongoing within the party over whether to hold the 15th General Convention on schedule or to call a special convention instead.
