NC general secretary Sharma climbing the world’s highest peak

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Biswo Prakash Sharma is set to climb the Sagarmatha (Mount Everest), the highest peak of the world.

Leader Sharma has received climbing permit from the Department of Tourism for the purpose. According to Department’s Director, Himal Gautam, NC general secretary Sharma has obtained mountaineering permit to go on Mount Everest expedition in the spring season.

As many as 50 climbers have so far scaled the world’s summit in the mountaineering underway in the season, the mountaineering expedition company said. Many climbers are planning to reach the peak tonight, it is informed.

According to the Department’s data, a total of 458 climbers of 45 mountaineering groups have obtained permission for the ongoing Mount Everest expedition.

Likewise, altogether 1,140 climbers of 124 groups have taken permission for scaling 27 mountains, including the Sagarmatha.
