KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwo Prakash Sharma has raised objections to the government’s move to pass a land-related bill through the House of Representatives without sufficient homework.

Through a post on social media platform X, he expressed disagreement over the tabling of the ‘Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Land’ in Parliament without proper groundwork and discussion, aiming to pass it directly.

He emphasized that the bill should first be sent to a parliamentary committee for prior consensus instead of being rushed, adding that there should be no haphazard proceedings.

Sharma has requested the removal of the bill from Wednesday’s House agenda.

The bill is scheduled to be presented and passed during today’s session of the House of Representatives.
