KATHMANDU: The side supporting the Nepali Congress Special General Convention has urged the party leadership to take ownership of the special general convention organized by them.
Coordinator of the publicity committee for the Congress Special Convention, Subas Pokhrel, held a press conference a while ago and urged the party leadership to take ownership in order to unite the party and move it forward.
“The convention delegates are the supreme legislators of the Nepali Congress party, and the party should move forward by respecting the decisions made by the special convention. The ownership of the special convention must be accepted by the party leadership,” he argued.
The Publicity Committee Coordinator Pokhrel stated that the party president must relinquish his responsibility, take ownership of the special general convention, and should not be a candidate for president in the upcoming election.
He said that the party leadership should not boss over the convention delegates. Pokhrel mentioned that the special convention greatly helped in strengthening the party’s internal democracy. He also stated that in the coming days, there will be an end to the division of party positions within the Congress.
