KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has announced that the appointment of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor will be finalized soon in coordination with its coalition partner, CPN-UML.

During a meeting of office bearers and former officials held today, party president Sher Bahadur Deuba assured that the appointment process would be concluded swiftly.

Nepali Congress spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat stated that Deuba emphasized the importance of appointing a professional and capable individual to the role.

Quoting Deuba, Mahat said, “There has been concern over the prolonged delay in appointing the Governor. It will be finalized soon. We have stressed that it should be someone professional, and the decision will be made through mutual agreement.”

Mahat also mentioned that the meeting discussed the need to expedite the formation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission for Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons.
