KATHMANDU: The Election Committee formed by the Nepali Congress Special General Convention, which began here on 11 January at the call of its proponents, has released today the schedule for selecting the party’s new leadership.
The Election Committee, formed today by the closed session of the Special General Convention currently underway at Bhrikutimandap since Monday, announced the schedule through an official notice. According to the Election Committee Coordinator and senior advocate Sitaram KC, voting for the central leadership election has been scheduled for tonight from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
As per the published schedule, the voter list will be released at 12:30 p.m., and claims and objections regarding the voter list, along with verification, will take place until 1:30 p.m. The final voter list will be published at 2:00 p.m., followed by the registration of candidate nominations from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the list of nominated candidates will be published at 4:30 p.m.
Similarly, claims and objections on candidate nominations will be accepted from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with their review conducted from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The withdrawal of nominations is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the final list of candidates will be published at 8:45 p.m., according to the official notice.
