‘NC will make province strong and country prosperous through upcoming elections’

MORANG: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has asserted that his party would take the lead in strengthening provinces and prospering country by amending the Constitution through upcoming elections.

At the NC Koshi province level cadres’ meet and interaction, he stressed the need to make the governance system robust and accountable in line with the public aspirations by taking people’s mandate through upcoming elections.

President Thapa urged the party leaders and candidates to go among the people to secure their trust for ending bad governance, controlling corruption, building a prosperous Nepal with good governance, treating everyone equally, and giving confidence to the youth for opportunities.

“Through the transformed Congress, we have made a clear plan to end bad governance and establish the rule of law. We will move forward respecting the sentiments of citizens and especially the younger generation,” President Thapa said, “For this, we will establish accountable governance, make state institutions more effective, improve the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, courts, and the Office of the Attorney General to provide accessible services to citizens.”

He stated that Congress will handle the current situation to prevent the country from falling into another conflict and establish the foundation for reforms, ensuring the rights and entitlements of Dalits, Muslims, minorities, Madhesis, and women and protecting religion and culture.

Also speaking on the occasion, NC general secretary Gururaj Ghimire said everyone after the party’s reorganization has united to move forward in the elections and that disputes will be sorted out constructively for the results.

“The leadership of the party has changed. We have moved forward with a clear understanding of the country’s problems and the issues of the Gen Z Uprising. Now we will change the country. We will focus on making Nepali dignified and self-reliant.”

Leader Dr Shekhar Koirala said the party with its unswerving commitment to democracy will make sincere efforts to build a prosperous future for all Nepali people.

“The party will work with everyone to realize the main agendas of the Gen Z movement, including keeping good governance, ending corruption and maintaining prosperity.

Also speaking on the occasion were party’s assistant general secretary Dr Dila Sangraula along with Sarita Prasai, Bhishma Raj Angdambe, Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar and others who are in HoR election fray in the constituencies of Koshi province.
