Nepali Congress Central Committee meeting to continue today as well

KATHMANDU: The Central Committee (CC) meeting of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) will continue today for the third consecutive day at the party headquarters.

According to Krishna Prasad Poudel, Chief Secretary at the NC central office, 35 Central Committee members have put forth their opinions on various agenda items since the meeting began on Monday under the leadership of Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

On Tuesday, senior leaders including Ramesh Rijal, Uma Regmi, Ramesh Lekhak, Laxmi Pariyar, and Sita Kumari Rana presented their views. They focused on the 100-day campaign report, the progress report from the Central Policy, Research and Training Academy, and the findings of the Discipline Committee. The renewal status of active memberships was also thoroughly discussed.

The meeting also reviewed decisions of the Directorate Committee regarding sister organizations. Discussions were held on the management and expansion of the Nepali Public Relations Committee and ways to strengthen its international outreach.

Other agenda items included the endorsement of Central Working Committee (CWC) decisions, guidelines for the performance of elected representatives, and assessments of the party’s effectiveness in Parliament and government affairs.

Invitee member Pushparaj Parajuli also addressed the meeting, expressing his views on the agenda under discussion, party sources said. The meeting is expected to continue further as several members are yet to speak.
