KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress general secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma have issued a circular to local-level committees urging voter registration completion by November 16.

The circular instructs Province Presidents of Nepali Congress to increase active participation in line with the Election Commission’s notice.

The circular outlines four key directives: first, provincial committee members and office bearers are to be assigned responsibility for the “Full Focus Voter Registration Campaign” in different districts immediately after Chhath festival.

Second, all district committees and subordinate units are directed to prioritize voter registration over other work.
Third, members of provincial parliamentary parties are asked to actively promote registration in their respective constituencies.

Fourth, citizens can register at designated Election Commission centers by November 16, bringing their citizenship certificates; youths without citizenship must obtain one to register on the same day.

The circular also notes that the party’s ongoing central committee meeting will make further decisions on political strategy.
