KATHMANDU: Gagan Kumar Thapa, the newly elected President of the Nepali Congress, is formally taking charge of his office today following the party’s special general convention.
Thapa, who previously served as the General Secretary of the party, was unanimously chosen for the presidency during the second special general convention held in Kathmandu on January 15.
Today marks the first meeting of the newly elected working committee, taking place at the party’s central office in Sanepa.
As per the party office’s announcement, the meeting is set to commence at 1:00pm and will focus on the upcoming House of Representatives election as well as current political matters.
Prakash Sharma, the central office secretary, has requested the attendance of the party’s central committee office-bearers, members, and provincial chairpersons at the meeting.
