KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has claimed that no one other than the UML and Nepali Congress would be able to form the government in coming days.
Oli laid the claim at a thought seminar organized by Madan-Ashrit Memorial Foundation here on Tuesday themed ‘Message of the CPN (UML)’s 11th national congress and political outlet’.
Also former Prime Minister, Oli mentioned that he recently heard about the agreements inked between political parties for the Prime Minister’s post and thus reiterated that no other than his party and Nepali Congress would be able to form the government.
The septuagenarian leader threw a jibe at the recent political developments in the country, “You cannot just distribute the post of the Prime Minister wherever and whenever you meet someone!”
Stating that his party would not be affected by the alliance-building among other political parties, he insisted that big and old democratic forces like his party and NC will lead the country.
He noted that reinstatement of the parliament was the top priority for his party and thus called for restoration of the parliament to provide a political outlet to the current deadlock.
Similarly, Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Vice-Chairperson of UML, said that the leftists and democratic must move forward in unison to safeguard democracy and the nation.
Likewise, NC leader Min Bishwakarma condemned that there was a tendency of selectively attacking the leaders of the old and large parties in the wake of the Gen-Z movement that took place on September 8 and 9 this year.
UML leader, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, echoed with leader Bishwakarma regarding the UML and NC forging alliance for the protection of the democracy and nation.
Sunita Dangol, UML’s central member and Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s Deputy Mayor, opined that the recently held national congress had generated a renewed energy in the current situation by facilitating the exchange of experiences between the new and old generation of the party leaders.
