KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has proposed a mass protest to restore the dissolved House of Representatives.

In a political report presented to the party’s Central Committee, Chairman KP Sharma Oli emphasized that there is no alternative to a mass movement.

The report states: “To counter the atrocities and backward steps under the protection of the government and to restore the dissolved parliament, thereby bringing the country back to the path of the Constitution and democracy, our party concludes that a people’s movement is indispensable.”

It further calls on party ranks, pro-constitution and pro-democracy political parties, and the general public to participate in various programs of public mobilization and protests.
