KATHMANDU: The Speaker has adjourned the meeting indefinitely after opposition parties obstructed the Sudurpashchim Provincial Assembly.
The opposition parties obstructed the assembly, saying that the provincial government has increased the financial burden by adding unnecessary posts called the Policy and Planning Commission and Advisors.
Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari has demanded that the main opposition parties, the CPN-Maoist Center, the Unified Socialist Party, the RPP, and independent lawmakers, correct the unnecessary appointments.
Speaking on behalf of the opposition party, Naresh Kumar Shahi, the provincial assembly member of the Unified Socialist Party, said that the appointments called the Policy and Planning Commission and Advisors should be canceled.
Shahi warned that the government has increased unnecessary expenses and that the meeting cannot proceed until he corrects them. The provincial assembly meeting has been adjourned after the opposition parties obstructed.
