Parliament will not be restored, elections will be held: NC Vice President

JHAPA: Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said that the dissolved parliament will not be restored before March 5.

Addressing a gathering organized by Nepali Congress Jhapa Constituency No. 2 in Birtamod today, he urged the party cadres to participate fully in the elections to be held on March 5. “The dissolved parliament will not be restored as the court hearing process will be long.

Therefore, the elections will be held on March 5 as scheduled.”

He said that the Nepali Congress has now embarked on a campaign to change the face of the country, and that the party has become a new party by electing youth as its leader through a special general convention.

Vice President Sharma directed the party leaders and cadres to stay within their constituencies and seek votes for the party candidates from February 13 to the day of elections. He also shared that the party has fielded new faces in 106 constituencies.

Stating that the Nepali Congress has the capacity to address the demands of the GenZ Movement, he said that the Congress has the capacity to restore the public trust that was broken after the GenZ Movement. The party has become united after the special general convention.
