KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has summoned an all-party meeting today at 6 PM as Nepal reels from escalating Gen-Z protests.

The demonstrations, driven by anger over corruption, entrenched privilege, generational wealth, and the social media ban, turned deadly yesterday, leaving 19 protesters dead.

In the wake of the unrest, several houses of key political leaders have been targeted in arson attacks.

Authorities are grappling with maintaining order as the situation continues to escalate in Kathmandu and other districts.

PM Oli has appealed to all citizens to exercise restraint and maintain calm, emphasizing the need for dialogue to address the grievances fueling the protests.

The government is under mounting pressure to respond to the protesters’ demands.
